The Details

What you're stepping into.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine VR – Defenders of Avarax turns you into an eight-foot supersoldier engineered for one purpose: war. Built with Games Workshop and exclusive to the Zero Latency network, it drops your squad into the biggest world Zero Latency has ever made — and Grid City VR is where you play it in Colorado.

The official Warhammer 40,000 free-roam VR experience

This isn’t a headset-on-a-couch port. Defenders of Avarax is a fully licensed Warhammer 40,000 experience where you suit up as an Adeptus Astartes Space Marine and walk — actually walk — through the hive city of Fervastium. You’ll descend into a sealed vault, wield weapons from your Chapter’s arsenal, and hold the line against endless Tyranid swarms across cathedral-scale arenas and colossal alien megastructures.

How it plays

Coordinate suppressing fire, push through three escalating combat zones, and choose your challenge: Normal for action-packed fun, or Hardcore for the fearless — manual reloads, friendly fire, and relentless foes.

  • Official Warhammer 40,000 free-roam VR, built with Games Workshop
  • Massive arenas — the largest environment Zero Latency has ever built
  • Normal and Hardcore difficulty modes for first-timers and veterans
  • Squads of 2–6, full body tracking, no wires

Beaten Avarax? There’s a harder war.

When your squad is ready for the real test, step up to Threat: Lethal — the wave-survival Warhammer 40K mode with revives, friendly fire, and a difficulty curve that punishes sloppy squads.

For the Emperor. Rally your squad at Grid City VR in Westminster — free-roam Premium VR, 15 minutes north of Denver.

Fun for a really broad range of ages

A fun and highly unique experience. We brought our group to a VR escape room and had a blast. Staff is highly professional and the technology is pretty incredible. Fun for a really broad range of ages. We'll be back.

A Father's Day we won't forget

Took my dad here for Father's Day — we had an absolute blast in the VR Escape Room and the Racing Sim. The beer wall is a great touch as well. Appreciate that the staff was so kind, helpful, and understanding! Would definitely come back again!

Tons of space, no worries about falling down

The staff was incredibly accommodating and offered a free ride on their racing rig! The experience itself is like nothing I’ve seen before, with tons of space and no worries about falling down. 10/10!

Zombies, tyranids, and no motion sickness

If you're in the mood to blast zombies or swarms of tyranids, I highly recommend the experience. The fully immersive VR experience is better than being there because you don't get hurt AND don't get motion sick. We ran the Warhammer 40k sim and the Mall Madness zombie attack. The first was awesome, while the second was chaotic and fun. I also appreciated the friendly staff.

I wanted to face my fears

Fabulous team and owner! I have a severe fear of zombies (panic attacks, hyperventilating, etc) and I wanted to face my fears. The team was so helpful and encouraging. I did not last very long but they were so supported during my trial that I planned to come back again! Maybe this time I will last more than three minutes!

The venue was very cool and the staff amazingly attentive. This was my first VR outside of a home setup and the quality was incredible. Would love to return soon!

The simulators will humble you fast

Had an amazing time at Grid City VR. Check-in was super quick and easy since we filled out the waivers online ahead of time. The best parts were the Zero Latency VR experience and the racing simulators. The simulators are incredibly realistic and will humble you fast, but the staff took the time to help us get comfortable and improve. The Zero Latency experience was even better than I expected — you completely lose track of where you are and feel fully immersed. This is a great place for a group outing with friends, family, or coworkers. There's plenty of parking and lots of places to grab food nearby. Highly recommend!

Full body tracking, and seriously immersive

Amazing experience in the Premium VR. It had full body tracking — "zero latency" — and was quite immersive. It prioritized free roam and dynamic environments over the standard stand-in-place VR, and was quite energizing.
